Chicago CBS Local:  Robbins Police Chief Facing New Drunk Driving Charges (Dec 27 2012)

The 66-year old police chief of south suburban Robbins failed a field sobriety test and a Breathalyzer last weekend when he was arrested for drunk driving, according to police in Midlothian  …  Midlothian Police Lt. Harold Kaufman says Robbins Police Chief Johnny Holmes blew a .19 Breathalyzer when he was arrested last weekend. In Illinois, you’re considered drunk at a blood-alcohol level of .08.  Kaufman says a woman had called 911 to report Holmes’ GMC Yukon SUV moving erratically on 147th Street. Kaufman says the woman says she swerved to avoid being hit by the SUV.

Midlothian police say Holmes was arrested and given seven tickets for driving under the influence of over .08, driving under the influence, disobeying a police officer, failure to stop, no proof of insurance, illegal transportation of alcohol (having open container of alcohol in his vehicle), and improper lane usage.

Rockford Register Star:  Robbins’ police chief arrested again for DUI (Dec 28 2012)

The police chief of the Chicago suburb of Robbins has been arrested for drunken driving — for the second time in three years.  Authorities in the nearby suburb of Midlothian say Robbins Police Chief Johnny Holmes was pulled over at 10:30 p.m. Saturday after another driver called to report someone driving erratically.  The police report says Holmes made an improper turn and failed at first to stop when officers turned on their emergency lights and siren.

The police chief of Robbins is apologizing for his arrest on drunken-driving charges –- his second — and concedes his job may be in danger  … Holmes, 66, says he was drinking Saturday night. He told police he had been drinking at the Posen Pub before he was stopped in neighboring Midlothian.  Police attempted to stop Holmes near Pulaski and Claire, about a half-mile from his home, but the chief didn’t’ stop until he got to the border of Midlothian and Robbins, about a half block from his home.

WREX:  Police chief arrested for DUI; 2nd time in 3 years (Dec 27 2012)

The police chief of the Chicago suburb of Robbins has been arrested for drunken driving – for the second time in three years.  Authorities in the nearby suburb of Midlothian (mid-LOHTH’-ee-uhn) say Robbins Police Chief Johnny Holmes was pulled over Saturday around 10:30 p.m. after another driver called to report someone driving erratically.  The police report says Holmes made an improper turn and failed at first to stop when officers turned on their emergency lights and siren.  The report says Holmes had a blood alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit.
